Fall Shawl Weather

We had our first snow of the season in NYC this past weekend and it is finally starting to feel like Winter on the East Coast. On Saturday evening while SantaCon was raging outside our apartment and the snow was falling we decided to walk up to Union Square for some shopping. It was actually a great time to go to F21 as all the normal shoppers were out at the bars dressed as Mrs. Claus. Not expecting (or finding) much, I spied this striped shawl and couldn't resist the $20 price tag.

Ever since the Georgia O'Keeffe exhibit at the Brooklyn Museum earlier this year there has been a renewed style interest in the American West by the fashion world. Many designers have been interpreting the theme, captured especially beautifully by Dior for their Resort 2018 collection. Flipping through Vogue a few nights ago there were multiple Western references, meaning this trend is poised to become big in 2018.

I will most definitely be pulling this shawl out throughout the winter as it is super comfortable and cozy. The neutral colors make it versatile and easy to pair as well. While I couldn't find the exact piece online (if you're in NYC head to the F21 on Union Square ASAP, 2nd floor, back section), I did find some options to get a similar look here, here and here.
