DIY - Holiday Bow Heels

I am starting to sound like a broken record talking about my affinity for bows and ribbons this season, but nevertheless my love continues. I spied a few bow-topped shoes in J.Crew and Club Monaco  and thought how perfect they are for holiday events. Being the crafty girl I am, I took it upon myself to create a pair of bow shoe clips. After finding some shoe clips on Etsy, I created two frayed-edge bows from fabric I had lying around. These Sam Edelman suede heels which have been in my closet for a few years now were a perfect shoe to test out the clips.

Not sure how familiar everyone reading is with shoe clips, but they are essentially like clip-on earrings for your shoes. They used to be popular back in the day when women only had a few pairs of heels but wanted a way to change up their look. I first heard about shoe clips when I was working at BHLDN, as we would sell some fancy versions women could buy for their wedding day. The concept is a great one, especially when you have a favorite pair of heels perfectly broken in but want something new. Let's bring back the shoe clip!

I suggest trying your hand at making some fun shoe clips, but if you aren't the DIY type you can also get the look ready-made. As mentioned above, this pair of J.Crew flats and this pair of Club Monaco loafers are adorable and what inspired me to get some bow-topped shoes for myself. If you're more of a flats gal, these loafer mules and these classic loafers are a great holiday option that works equally well for the office or weekend parties.
