White Ruffle Dress

In case you missed my last post, I shared how I am consolidating my apparel designs under one name and label, Magill. I have dreams of one day turning my ideas and designs into my own brand, Magill is a step in that direction. In today's post I am sharing one of my new Magill designs, a white ruffle dress that is a perfect summer style look.

While in Palm Springs recently we stayed at the Ace Hotel & Swim Club. We have stayed at other Ace properties before and love the unique elements and casual atmosphere. We made full use of the amenities - outdoor lunch at King's Highway, riding the hotel's bikes to Rooster and the Pig and many hours relaxing by the pool. We also had a little outdoor space (seen above) attached to our room where we sipped coffee in the morning.

A few of our other favorite stops while in Palm Springs were Bootlegger Tiki for happy hour, Cheeky's for brunch and Koffi for (you guessed it) coffee.

I took our recent trip to Palm Springs and Las Vegas as an opportunity to wear a bunch of new pieces that I've made. This white dress is one the latest Magill styles that I wore out to dinner at The Purple Palm while we were in Palm Springs. With the hot and dry weather, a relaxed white dress is the perfect evening attire.

As I've mentioned in numerous posts, I am a huge fan of ruffles and flounces. This dress has not one but two ruffles, at the neckline and hem. The shoulder ties allow for easy fit changes and length adjustments and the casual shape can easily be dressed up or down. While this dress is not available for sale (at least not yet...), there are a few white ruffle options in the market right now if you are interested in a similar look here, here and here. I must say, I had a hard time finding dresses that were super similar, glad to know I'm one of a kind :).
