We've Moved to California!

There has been a bit of lapse in my posting on Fizz and Fade for the past month or so and for that I apologize. We had quite an eventful month of September but now with us in nearly mid-October things have settled down a bit. If you follow me on Instagram (@emilykfarina) you will have seen that we moved to San Diego, California last month. This move has been something Jeff and I talked about for a long time and originally planned to do in 2019. However when a few unexpected events lined up this spring and summer we decided to make the move before the end of the year. As anyone who has moved cross-country knows, this shit ain’t for the weak. It was a very stressful and trying experience that I do not want to go through again any time soon. But we made it and are settling into our new place in North Park, loving every minute.

When we set our sights on moving to San Diego and began thinking about what type of place to move into next, we had a list of attributes that it was important for the place to have. After living in a one-bedroom NYC apartment for the past 2.5 years and both of us in studio apartments before that, we wanted to get a free-standing house with more space. Given San Diego is known for it’s gorgeous weather, we also were set on a house with a nice outdoor space and yard that we could essentially use year-round. Lastly, something we missed in New York, we wanted to be able to set up a home office that was removed from the main living space.

We looked at a number of homes and finally our patience paid off and we found the perfect place. We have a bit of organizing and set-up still to do, but I’m confident once it comes together it will be great. I’m planning to take you all along with me as we go through the process of filling out and decorating the home, both here on my blog and on my instagram. So stay tuned, in the meantime check out a few of my inspiration photos below from my Pinterest board!
