Transitioning Florals for Fall
I hate having to put a full wardrobe into storage and pull another one out every time the seasons change. I’d much rather have pieces that are versatile and can be worn through the year just by changing up what I pair them with. Florals and skirts especially are popular for warmer weather but I don’t believe they need to be relegated to the back on your closet when Fall rolls around. All you need are a few quick tricks to transition these floral pieces for the colder time of year.
3 Tips for Transitioning Your Florals For Fall
You most likely have some floral pieces from spring and summer already hanging in your closet. To bring the style into the cooler weather follow these 3 tips :
Pair with Dark Pieces - choose navy, black or grey to make the floral feel moodier
Add Seasonal Footwear - boots and booties instantly add a fall vibe
Layer Up - sweaters, scarfs and jackets all ease the transition (and keep you warm!)
This skirt was originally a dress that I bought while living in New York City. I loved the dark blue ground and the unusual coloring of the flowers within the print. After chopping off the bodice, I used the leftover fabric to add a waistband sash that ties around front in a bow. I paired the skirt with these Marc Fisher booties that Jeff bought me last year for Christmas. They are the perfect Chelsea boot, super comfortable and available at a great price.
