Hawaiian Sunrise

When we were in Kauai we set our alarms bright and early and drove out to Secret Cove, which was about a 10 minute drive from our hotel. After passing through a stone archway you find yourself on this absolutely beautiful little rocky beach. A few others came to watch the sunrise shortly after we arrived and we were all treated to a morning that did not disappoint. The darkness brightened into the most beautiful pinks, oranges and purples. I couldn't stop taking photos it was just so picturesque, every minute the colors changing into something different.

Watching the sunrise is one of those things that sounds like a really good idea until it's 4:30am that morning and you really want to keep sleeping. My feeling though, when we're on vacation, especially at a beach, waking up to watch the sunrise is a great way to start the day. Plus, since you're on vacation you can just sleep in the next day, no big deal. By waking up extra early you beat the breakfast rush, get a head start on your morning and remember how beautiful something that happens literally every single day can be.

This red and white striped tee is one of my absolute favorites and comes with me on nearly every trip I take. It's classic, comfy and versatile - all things I look for in my wardrobe staples. I got this shirt from H&M to replace a similar version from Urban Outfitters that I had worn to death over the years. If you are looking for a classic red and white striped tee to add to your rotation I've included links below to bunch.

I'm not one to wear a lot of makeup but I definitely wear it when I'm taking blog photos. When waking up super early to watch the sunrise, doing my hair and makeup was just not going to happen. Just posting these pictures without the shield of makeup was empowering - gotta keep it real even on a fashion blog!
