Isabel Marant for Less

Sweatshirt : Old Navy // Jeans : Rag & Bone (similar) // Shoes : Gucci // Bag : Thrifted // Sunglasses : Ray-Ban

I first learned about Isabel Marant back when I was in college studying fashion design. In those days there weren’t a lot of blogs and Pinterest wasn’t yet created, the main ways I got style inspiration were magazines, tumblr and lookbook.nu. Isabel Marant popped up on style.com and in various glossy publications and then I studied abroad in Paris and her cool-french-girl aesthetic was everywhere. I was smitten.

The majority (or really all) of Isabel Marant pieces are out of my budget at the moment but that doesn’t stop me from looking to her styling for major inspiration. When I saw this Isabel Marant sweatshirt on NET-A-PORTER I wanted it. The casual, boyish, retro style was exactly what I wanted in my wardrobe this fall. Plus it’s a cozy sweatshirt, who doesn’t love that? The next day I was in Old Navy and spotted this sweatshirt for a fraction of the cost for the Isabel version. Same retro print, same cozy fit - no brainer.

Finding this sweatshirt for so much less than the designer version inspired me to do some hunting to recreate a few other Isabel Marant looks on a more limited budget. I took two fully styled outfits and found some great affordable dupes to get the same stylized look. To shop, click directly on the products in the image below!
