People tend to associate Labor Day with the end of summer, when in reality summer continues on until the later part of September. I know this especially well since my birthday is often the Autumnal Equinox (it varies each year between the 22nd, 23rd and 24th).Read More
I purchased this lightweight white cotton fabric a couple months ago, mainly planning to use it for samples not to actually wear it. However after making an off the shoulder top with the fabric I realized I actually liked the casual look it provided.Read More

t's kind of funny, I never think of red as one of my favorite colors but whenever I am picking something bright red is always the color I reach for. I guess I do like it a lot.Read More
Most of us don't overhaul our wardrobes with the changing seasons, rather we pick a few new items, keep our favorites in rotation and relegate select trends to the upper shelves of our closets.Read More
There is something I love about black in the summer. Maybe because it seems a little subversive to be wearing something so dark when the weather is so hot out. I designed this Magill dress at the start of the summer and have pulled it out countless times. The fit is easy and super comfortable but still slim enough to have some shape.Read More
I think everyone starts to get a little sad when August rolls around as it means Summer is coming to a close. I recently heard someone refer to August as the "Saturday night" of Summer. In other words, we still have a whole "Sunday" of Summer left!Read More
Although August just started I am already starting to feel like Fall is right around the corner. We have had a few randomly cooler days in NYC which increased my anticipation for Fall even more. I have always liked the brief periods of time between seasons where you can mix and match pieces from the one ending and the one just starting. In between Summer and Fall you can have the great dichotomy of sweaters with shorts and dresses with jackets, but also jeans with lighter layers.
I particularly like to pair white jeans with darker accents leading into Fall. These burgundy loafer mules from the Fall Collection of Bettye are perfect for bridging the gap between Summer and Fall. The deep color makes lighter neutrals really pop, like white jeans and a Panama hat. As we move into Fall weather I can see wearing these loafer mules with black jeans, a navy sweater and my favorite camel coat. What pieces are you most excited to wear this Fall? Let me know in the comments what I should be picking up for my closet!
I have been drawing and painting ever since I could hold a pencil. In high school I took art as a major course all four years, meaning I had art class every single day of my high school career.Read More
I love scouring the vintage shop around the corner from my apartment (what up L Train) for something fun and cheap that I can re-work to look more modern. One of the main things I look for when shopping vintage is a print that I love. On one of my recent trips I was flipping through the short sleeve men's button downs (as a petite female does) and was super digging the print on this Hawaiian shirt. Of course since it was a men's size I was swimming in it. However, times like these my sewing skills come in handy and at $6 for the shirt I was willing to put a little work into it. After taking in the sides, tacking the sleeves and shortening the length the top was ready to go. Being in California seemed like the perfect opportunity to wear it!
After grabbing some brunch at Bayside Landing we headed to No Surf Beach (yes, that is the name) in Ocean Beach. Getting down to the beach from the road is a little treacherous (see photo below with the 'danger' sign), but once down there it is a great place to spend the day. Cliffs rising above make it super scenic. Also since it is so hard to get to it is usually pretty empty and with no tourists.
San Diego is one of my favorite places to visit and this trip was no exception. With great weather, a laid back attitude and plenty of beaches it's pretty much my paradise. Hoping to make it back as soon as possible!
Given my interest in fashion, many of my friends will often ask me what the next big trends will be. Today I wanted to share a few of my predictions for what trends will be popular in the upcoming monthsRead More
We headed to Brooklyn on Saturday to grab some food from Smorgasburg and walk around a bit. When the weather is hot a dress really is the most comfortable option and with the temps around 85 this day, it was the way to go.
I got these sneakers a few days ago from ASOS and was super excited to give them a try. First day in new sneakers is not always awesome (back heel rub, ouch), but I have faith they will become a favorite. Classic white sneakers really do go with everything, right? This pair was a little too white for me, so I did a little distressing to give them a more worn in look. I'll post some photos soon with the technique I used.
Blue is one of my favorite colors to wear in the summertime. It just makes you feel cooler and looks great with a tan. I created this shirt a couple months ago and have been waiting until it was seasonly appropriate to wear it.Read More
I have been curling my hair since high school and have tried a ton of products, techniques and styles over the years. It took me a long time to determine exactly how to achieve the hair look I was after, but I finally feel like I can create the style I like - the relaxed beach waves.Read More

Basket bags are having a moment this summer. One scroll through Instagram and I see a ton of woven varieties worn to the beach, pool or out to dinner. The style is popular for good reason - the shape is ideal for toting around beach or picnic essentials and the texture compliments summery fabrics and colors.Read More
