Over the course of the past few years I have steadily grown my hat collection and it seems that toppers are only becoming more and more popular as the years go by. When looking to add some new hats there are definitely some different price and quality routes you can take.Read More
Blame it on the fact that I am now living in Southern California, but graphic tees, specifically vintage band tees have been high on my wish list lately. I love the air of nonchalance they impact on an outfit making it feel more effortless and casual.Read More
Packing for vacations can be tricky. On the one hand you want to have options (who doesn’t, right?) for what to wear but at the same time you are limited by your suitcase space. If you are like me, you want to avoid checking your bag at all costs - added fees, potential lost luggage, extra time waiting at the airport…no thanks.
So what’s the solution? Be strategic about what you bring along in your carry-on suitcase so that you have maximum outfit options with minimum baggage. Over the years I have had some successful and less than successful packing experiences and learned a good deal about what works and what doesn’t. Today’s post is all about packing tips and tricks, just in time before heading off on your holiday getaways. Let’s get going!
A Few Helpful Tips
The name of the game here really is versatility aka. the ability to mix and match to create multiple looks. Focus on neutrals or one color palette to enable the greatest number of combinations from the least amount of items.
Think about how you can take all your clothing items and be able to dress them up or down. Small items that pack a big punch like red lipstick or statement earrings are perfect for transitioning something like a sweater into a night time look without taking up any extra luggage space.

Inflatable Footrest - I got this before going on my Italy trip and it was great. It really helps you recline and get the stretched out feeling. It does take up some room though so you may need to have a smaller bag at your feet when using it. You may feel a little ‘extra’ when blowing it up on the plane but whatever, they’re just jealous!
Neck Pillow - This one from Muji is impossibly soft and cozy; I end up using it open and laid out as a pillow a lot too. You can unzip the outside to machine wash as well after your trip (so essential).
Packing Cubes - I got these years ago and swear by them. It makes it sooo much easier to find things in your suitcase and keep organized. I recommend getting the Starter Set; the compression set is great to maximizing suitcase space.
On our last day in Venice we took a short ferry ride to visit the small island of Burano. I had read about Burano being a great day trip from Venice and I’m glad we were able to squeeze it in before heading back to Milan.Read More
Hands down my favorite dress style as of late is the long sleeve mini dress. The covered top half of this look is warm and seasonally appropriate while still getting a little bit of skin in before the real cold blows in. My top picks in long sleeve dresses are dark florals, rich navy velvet and vibrant red prints. All of these dresses would be perfect for holiday parties, grabbing drinks or even for work. Just toss on a jacket, black tights and booties and you’re good to go!
This is my first fall in San Diego and getting used to the weather has been a trip. We moved at the end of the summer so it was still pretty hot in New York City when we left. We came out to California and the warm weather continued, pretty much the same. Well now that we are in November I am starting to really experience the difference in living in Southern California from the East Coast.Read More

We may be a ways out from Spring 2019 but that doesn’t mean I’m not getting a head start on fashion inspiration. I’m all about trying out new trends but there are some where I want to dabble without the investment. Namely because I can already see a few months (or weeks) down the road I won’t be into the style anymore. Dropping $$$ on something that I will wear one time is just not practical for me.Read More
I first starting seeing this look on one of my favorite style blogs, Sincerely Jules. Her go-to brand was and still is, Golden Goose.
