Last weekend we went out to brunch at a little place in the East Village. It was a beautiful day so we were about to site outside which enabled me to do one of the New York City past times I enjoy most - people watch. While we were sitting at brunch I saw not one, not two, but three (!) girls walk by wearing high-waist, wide leg, white jeans. Three times is not a coincidence, it's a trend. So of course afterwards I did I do best - online scout to find the look.
This got me thinking about white jeans and how to update the look this season. For the past few years the white denim trend for women end has been pretty focused on the skinny fit. This year however there are tons of new iterations to inject some lightness into your wardrobe. I am definitely looking to change this up with my white jeans and thought you may feel the same way!
I am particularly partial to off-white denim that doesn't feel as harsh as pure white can. It looks especially chic and when paired with other neutrals like white and black. Everlane has a few options (here and here) in 'bone' color that is just slightly creamier than white. There are also a few affordable styles in wide leg and skinny fit also in this off-white shade from H&M.
The style of the East Village! I have made my love for high-waisted denim pretty clear for awhile now. A white, wide leg version of my favorite silhouette is exactly what my closet needs this season. This pair from H&M is a steal at only $35, while this Madewell pair can be dressed down for weekends or dressed up for work.
Boyfriend jeans have been around for awhile now, but they are usually done in a faded blue. White distressed denim feels fresh and perfectly nonchalant for weekends. I love this relaxed fit style from H&M or this slightly fitted style from J.Crew.
