Given the multitude of ways you can wear your denim jacket there is no reason to limit your closet to just one. I have two that I rotate between and love them both.Read More
Jeans are one of the clothing items that you can get on the cheap and as long as they fit well NO ONE WILL KNOW. That of course is contingent upon the denim actually fitting you well.Read More
“No White After Labor Day” is an antiquated maxim as far as I am concerned. I remember the rule being thrown around when I was younger but these days it no longer applies.Read More
Jeans are the workhorse of the modern-day wardrobe so it makes sense that denim jackets would follow suit and be equally versatile. For spring and summer there is no better staple to have in your closet than a jean jacket.Read More
Everyone talks about clothing styles coming and going through trend phases but jewelry goes in and out of style in the same way. I remember back in high school loving large statement earrings.Read More
I have multiple pairs of jeans in my closet but time and time again I end up reaching for the exact same ones. Why? Because they are the best-fitting ones. I know that I can pull them on and feel confident that they will flatter and enhance my look.Read More
The thing I love most about denim jackets is the texture and dimension they add to a look. If you think about denim in general, it has a lot of shades of blue going on- it has fading, it sometimes has distressing or can even have rips with white threads peeking out.Read More
High-Waisted Black Skinny Jeans
Is there anything more flattering than black skinny jeans? They are slimming and can be worn pretty much anywhere and with anything. I've had a few great pairs over the years, but my current favorite is this pair from Urban Outfitters (seen in this post and this post). I wear them all . the . time. I need to get another pair before the ones I have totally wear out. While you can definitely find some pricier skinny jeans, I am partial to the wallet-friendly options like these from Old Navy and these from H&M.
- H&M Skinny Ankle Jeans - Only $9.99!
- Old Navy High Rise Rockstar Jeans
- BDG Twig High Rise Skinny Jean - I wear these constantly!
High-Waist Mom Jeans
I waited awhile before hopping on the mom jean trend because I just didn't think they would flatter my petite shape. But once I got this pair from H&M (seen here , here and here)....game changer. The straight leg and high cut feels modern and retro at the same time. I love how I can tuck in any shirt or sweater and still get a flattering fit. My H&M pair is a little wider through the leg, so I have been looking for an additional style that is just a bit slimmer. I've had my eye on these H&M jeans, but after seeing this Gap style I may be looking to get those instead.
We've been having the cool weather in NYC that everyone claims never happens in the Fall. It's either too hot or freezing cold, but never crisp fall temperatures. Well lately, it has been exactly that!Read More
We're never satisfied with the weather, are we? It's either too hot or too cold. So far on the East Coast we have seen no signs of Fall, only the continuing heat of Summer. Not that I want to be freezing, but some cooler temps would be nice.Read More
We're in that terribly frustrating time of year when all the new spring products are coming out in stores, lucky people are taking warm weather vacations and most of us are stuck in cold and snowy cities. IRead More
Lace camisoles had a moment in the 90's and since then they have not been high on my list of items I want to wear. Lately, however I have been seeing silky tanks with lace trim being worn with chunky knits and high-waisted washed denim.Read More
A jean jacket rides the line between classic and trendy. Every couple seasons you see them pop up with a new type of wash, color, distressing or embellishment. But a simple jean jacket can truly be a closet staple, that can work year after year. The catch however, is finding the right denim jacket. It is a deceptively tricky garment to buy and style.Read More
When I left my fashion design job three years ago to attend business school, I didn't put too much thought into how my creativity would be impacted. I was used to being surrounded by fabrics, colors, textures and silhouettes all day. Whether researching trends online or attending model fittings or developing color boards, I was able to channel my creativity into my work.Read More
