This past Saturday we made the drive out to the desert to view the Super Bloom. This winter we have received an abnormal amount of rainfall (exactly what I was hoping for when I moved to Southern California) which has resulted in the deserts blooming with greenery and flowers.Read More
I am a huge fan of gingham in the summertime. It's one of those fabrics that really fits with "high summer", when temperatures are at their peak but you aren't quite sick of it yet.Read More
One of the things I love doing on the weekend is getting some brunch, I mean who doesn’t love that? Living in New York City there are endless places to eat and our East Village neighborhood is no exception.Read More
’ve spoken about mixing prints multiple times on my blog and it’s a styling tactic I love pulling out. There’s so much visual interest that comes with print mixing it just makes an outfit that much more complete…in my opinion.Read More
We are in the doldrums of winter in NYC and the warmth of spring seems tragically far away. The snow we got last week has melted and the city is grey, grey, grey. That’s exactly what I did with this outfit, go full steam ahead into the grey vibes of the New York streets.Read More

Whenever I buy new items these days I am always thinking about how I can wear the piece in question more than once. That may mean I am able to wear it to work and then again on the weekends or it might mean I can wear it throughout different seasons of the year. I'm at a point with my wardrobe now however that I really want double-duty items and am willing to pay a little more for them. This year I am looking to invest in a pleated skirt that I can wear now with light fall layers and also this winter with some heavier items.
For Fall, I love the look of a feminine blouse like this one paired with a cropped army jacket and funky earrings like these. When the weather gets colder, I'll be pairing the same skirt with a chunky knit and a statement-making plaid coat. Do you look for double-duty piece? What are your favs?
