Summer Workwear

Dressing for work in the summertime is tough. You need something that will be breezy in the sticky, hot air outside but will also keep you warm in the frigid temperatures inside the office. Every workday morning in NYC I hike to the subway (usually at a fairly fast clip, since I am a 'New Yorker' now) and arrive on the platform where I am met with stale, thick air. All that heat I generated speed-walking increases exponentially in the subway.

Pink & Eyelet

I have always loved the thrill of the hunt when it comes to fashion and shopping. Sometimes that thrill comes from finding a cheap item at a retailer like Forever 21, which I talked about in my last post here, in case you missed it. And sometimes the thrill comes from digging through racks of clothes at a vintage or secondhand shop. Some of my greatest cheap finds have actually been from Goodwill or Salvation Army.

Skirting the Issue


I have been looking for a leather skirt for awhile now that is utterly wearable and can become a staple piece in my wardrobe. A perfect leather skirt can transition from casual day-wear to nighttime fancy just by swapping the accessories and shoes. I was able for score a vintage leather skirt at one of my favorite Philly vintage haunts, Retrospect, and have since been gathering some inspiration on how to wear it.
